Swami Vivekanand said, “Education is not the amount of information that is put into your brain & runs riot there undigested all your life. We must have life building, man making, character making & assimilation of ideas. If you have assimilated five ideas & made them your life & character, you have more education than any man who has got by heart a whole library. We want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased. The intellect is expanded & by which one can stand on one’s own feet.”

Let us not confine life to a syllabus. There is more to life than just academics. Let us not only count their marks but more importantly make their life count.

Our school is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Education . The medium of communication is English. However, we firmly believe that, knowledge of Languages is an asset and therefore introduce Marathi from Std. I & Hindi from Std III. Our students are also coming with flying colours in the Competative & Scholarship Examinations.

The school believes in developing competative spirit in students so we have made a four house system. The houses are Ruby Red, Emerals Green, Topaz Yellow and Opal orange. All the students are evenly distributed amont these houses. Even the teachers are given responsibility of houses. Students compete each other in inter – house events under the banner of their respective house. They score marks for their houses. By the end of the year, after considering marks of inter – house competitions, academics & sports, one house receives the championship trophy.

Assessment Pattern

Effective learning needs periodic assessment. To reduce the burdon of examinations we have worked towards an overall evaluation process. From the session in 2010 we are following Governments New Assessment pattern, which includes Formative & Summitive Evaluation. We are evaluating our students by using the tools like Daily observations, Practicals / Demos, Projects, Activities, Class work, Class tests (Surprise / Open book ), Orals and participation in all co-curricular activities. So that from this session we have stopped Unit tests up to Std 8. These have been replaced by Class tests. We believe that tests are an invaluable tool for feedback to the students (and their parents) as well as the teacher. But there is no reason to make it into a traumatic experience for the young ones. There is more than enough time in later years to learn to handle exams and their associated stresses when children are more mature and physically and mentally stronger.
